ION EXCHANGE SYSTEMS (Water Softeners)

Ion exchange systems are used across a variety of industries for water softening, purification, and separation purposes. Ion Exchange is a treatment process where dissolved ions are replaced by other, more desirable, ions of a similar electrical charge. By definition, Ion exchange is an exchange of ions between two electrolytes or between an electrolyte solution and a complex. In most cases the term is used to denote the processes of purification, separation, and decontamination of aqueous and other ion-containing solutions with solid polymeric or mineralic “ion exchangers”
